Once AbeBooks is connected to Commercium, you can configure the available sync settings according to your requirements.

Go to:
Commercium → Integrations → Connected Integrations → AbeBooks

1. 🔑 Unique Product Identifier

The Unique Product Identifier is used to match products between your Source platform and AbeBooks.

Depending on the available configuration, you can use identifiers such as:
  • SKU
  • Barcode
  • ISBN
  • Other supported identifiers
Select the identifier that is available and consistent on both platforms.
Example

If the same SKU is available in both systems:

Source SKU → AbeBooks SKU
The SKU can be used to identify and match the products.
💡 Tip: Make sure the selected identifier is unique and available for the products you want to sync.
2. 📦 Product Sync
Product Sync allows Commercium to create and update AbeBooks listings from your Source platform.
Sync Direction
Source → Commercium → AbeBooks
Before enabling Product Sync, make sure the required:
  • Listing Profile
  • Attribute Mapping
are configured.
For detailed product creation instructions, see:
🚀 How to Create Products on AbeBooks
3. 📊 Inventory Sync
Inventory Sync sends inventory quantities from your Source platform to AbeBooks.
Sync Direction
Source → Commercium → AbeBooks
When the inventory changes on your Source platform, Commercium can update the corresponding AbeBooks listing.

Safety Stock: You can configure a Safety Stock quantity if you want to keep a certain amount of inventory reserved.
For example: If your available inventory is 10 and your Safety Stock is 2, the quantity available to be sent to AbeBooks can be reduced according to the configured Safety Stock.
💡 This can help reduce the risk of overselling.

4. 💰 Price Sync
Price Sync sends price updates from your Source platform to AbeBooks.
Sync Direction
Source → Commercium → AbeBooks
Enable Price Sync if you want price changes made on your Source platform to be reflected on AbeBooks.
5. 🛒 Order Sync
Order Sync imports AbeBooks orders into your Source Platform.
Sync Direction: AbeBooks → Commercium → Source Platform

Enable Order Sync to automatically import orders from AbeBooks into your Source Platform.
Depending on your connected Source Platform, additional settings may be available, such as:
  • Custom Order Number
  • Order Notes
  • Order Tags
  • Other order-related settings
📌 Note: The available settings may vary depending on your connected Source Platform. The examples above are based on Shopify.

5.1 Cancelled Order Sync
Explanation: When an order is cancelled on AbeBooks, Commercium marks the corresponding order as cancelled in your Source Platform.
Example: If an AbeBooks order is cancelled, the cancellation is synchronized to Shopify, and the inventory is restocked according to the configured restock flow.
⚠️Important: If you manually cancel an order because an item is out of stock, handle the inventory adjustment manually.

5.2 Refund Order Sync
Explanation: When an order is marked as refunded on AbeBooks, Commercium triggers the refund in your Source Platform.
Example: If an AbeBooks order is refunded, Commercium triggers the refund in Shopify, and the order is marked as refunded there.
⚠️Important: The refund status in AbeBooks should be Buyer's Refunded for the refund flow to be triggered.

5.3 Restock Returned Items from AbeBooks
Explanation: This optional setting controls whether refunded items are automatically added back to your inventory.
  • If enabled: The refunded quantity is automatically restocked.
  • If disabled: Inventory must be updated manually if the returned items are received.
Example: If 2 items are refunded and the restock flow is enabled, the system automatically restocks 2 units.
⚠️ Important: If the items have not physically been returned to stock, manually adjust the inventory to avoid incorrect stock levels.

6. 🚚 Shipment Sync
Shipment Sync sends shipment information from your Source platform to AbeBooks.
Sync Direction
Source → Commercium → AbeBooks
This can include shipment and tracking information.
Enable Shipment Sync if you want shipment information to be updated automatically on AbeBooks.
